OOTD: Miami Street Style + Coconut Grove Snapshots

My friend and fashion blogger extraordinaire, Annie Vazquez of The Fashion Poet, put on her photog hat and snapped some cool street style pictures of me a few weeks back.

I'm my worst critic, but I kinda love the look and feel of these two pictures.  These were going to be used for an anticipated project that never came to fruition.  In the end it didn't matter, because I got to hang with my girl, and laugh the afternoon away.

Mostly making fun of myself.
While waiting at the bus stop.
You know how I do.

Hosting Gig: Gap Friends & Family Fall Collection + Dadeland Mall + Gap Promo Codes

I want to thank everyone who came out to support me and the blog at The Gap a few weekends ago.  I was honored to have The Gap ask me to host one of their in-store shopping events at Dadeland Mall.  I love the new, edgier and more fashion forward Fall collection.  There are a ton of textured pieces, with streamlined silhouettes. You should also check out their outerwear and cropped jackets: I can't wait for temperatures to dip into the low 70's in Miami so that I can sport some of their new Fall styles, ha, ha!

As part of the fun, I styled three mannequins using pieces from the store.  You can see the looks below.

And a big thank you to Gatsby, for making an adorable appearance and making everyone fall in love with him.

OOTD: Skater Skirt + Gap Bird Scarf + Stripes

Hello everyone! I had a great weekend!  I hosted the Gap event on Saturday and relaxed the rest of the weekend. I wanted to thank everyone that came out to support me and the blog at the Gap. It was a big success and it meant a lot to me to see lots of familiar faces there.  You guys are awesome - you know who you are :)

I also wanted to let you guys know about a new local jewelry designer named Stephanie.  She designs beautiful pieces for Stephanie Elise Designs, an online jewelry shop that features druzzy earrings, unique necklaces, and all sorts of other gorgeous pieces.  She was kind enough to send me some items that I have not taken off, since I received them.

The initial custom LOVE necklace is the biggest hit, garnering compliments wherever I go. Thanks, Stephanie!

This simple outfit of the day was inspired by a tweet I received from a follower who paired he Gap bird scarf with a striped top.
What do you guys think of this look?

Gap Holiday Collection, 2013 + Dadeland Mall, Miami

Good morning!
I'm so excited to announce that I'm teaming up with my local Gap store in the Dadeland Mall to help show you all how fun the new holiday collection is!
I'll be at the Gap in the Dadeland on Tuesday, November 5th for a special Styld.by event and on Saturday, November 9th, for a little style session time (with me).
There will be more details to come, but for now, check out some of my snapshots from the new collection.
I loved everything I saw; lots of chunky, soft knits, great patterns and really amazing textures.  They have updated leather pieces and velvet pants, too.  The line got a major makeover this Holiday season.
Hope you enjoy
xx

OOTD: How to Style Camo Pants

Updated links for 2014:
I was a little hesitant about buying a pair of Gap skimmers in camo print (now sold out).  Said hesitation mostly stemmed from childhood memories of  "chongas" (Miami reference) who, to me, were intimidating girls who wore oversized camouflage pants (paired with tight spandex bra-tops), who snarled and growled their way through middle school. Yikes!

Luckily, in adult hood, those girls are nowhere to be found and camo print got a makeover!

You can find these pants everywhere:

Loft even came out with a cool camo print skirt.

Below are my tips on how to style camo or army print pants!

Here's my how-to for Camo wear: (under the link)

Review: Gap Bow City Flats

I recently got back from a vacation where I walked/hiked/trekked/whined my way through many city streets.  In this post I detailed how I had wanted a comfortable, chic flat for my trip.  I bought these Gap Bow City Flats after reading the reviews on Gap.com.  The reviews said to size up between 1/2 a size and a full shoe size.  I sized up 1/2 a shoe size and I should have gone with one full shoe size.  They retail for about $40, but you'll always find a sale on Gap.com

Lima, Peru Part I

I am a terrible packer, I know that you're all aware.  I always miss my closet when I am living out of a suitcase.  I did my best.  Please enjoy some pictures from our recent trip to Lima, Peru.

Lots of colorful shots at every corner.  I really like this one.  Good timing.
