Protect Your Pumps Giveaway

Without getting into too many details about what I do; I'm an attorney who is on her feet 80% of the day, in high heels.
What has this taught me?

1. I need better insoles - I'm taking suggestions.
2. I go through a pair of "work" shoes every 3-4 months.

For work I usually wear Mossimo brand from Target (the Pearce pump) or a Nine West pump.
I've tried more expensive shoes before, from Talbot's, but what's the point? I tear through those suckers in no time.

I will not wear expensive shoes for work.

However, I will wear inexpensive shoes for work that will now last me a lot longer thanks to Protect your Pumps.

Of course, a smart and ambitious lawyer came up with the concept for these little guys, that stick to the bottom of the soles of your shoes and help slow down the regular wear and tear of every day use.

Check out the before and after photos on their site.

For those of you that are interested in using these on your high end shoes, like Christian Louboutin, you will be happy to know that Protect your Pumps indicates on their site that they're Louboutin friendly.

One pair is $10, three pairs are $20.  Protect Your Pumps can last you about 6-10 wears before needing to be changed.

Do you guys think these are a good idea?
Give them a try, pain free - win the giveaway.

Makeup Forever Makeup Bag Remix Tour+ Avenutra Mall Miami

Makeup Forever is one of my favorite makeup brands.  It ranks right up there with NARS for me.  I love makeup and I definitely tend to collect (read: hoard) it, specifically eye shadow and liners.

I currently use Makeup Forever HD Finishing Powder, with it's Kabuki brush, several of the Aqua Eyes regular eyeliners, and two of the Aqua Eyes liquid liners (obsessed) (try the electric blue shade).

Makeup Forever: liquid liner, HD powder, regular eyeliner, & kabuki brush.

But... even I have to admit that there are certain impulse buys at the makeup counter that just sit in the back of the makeup drawer or at the bottom of my makeup bag.  Come on, you know I'm talking to you, because you bought that way-too-dark (black) shade of lipstick, or that pot of beautiful blue cream eye shadow that you never use!

In comes Makeup Forever to save the day with its Mobile Makeup School and the Makeup Bag Remix Tour!  MUFE Makeup artists will be setting up at the Aventura Mall in Miami on Saturday March 2nd, and Sunday March 3rd.  You will be able to bring in your own makeup bag with both,  products you already know how to use and those that fall under the aforementioned Impulse Buy category :).

A makeup artist will teach you how to get the most out of what you already own.  The products can be any makeup brand, not exclusively Makeup Forever products.  The goal here is to help you get glamorous with what's already in your beauty arsenal.

You will also have the opportunity to set up an appointment for a mini makeup session with an artist who will use the newest Makeup Forever product on you: Pro Finish, a new multi-use compact foundation that launched this January.

Click this link to reserve your free appointment.  See you in March!

OOTD: Coconut Grove Arts Festival 2013 + Ash Rain Oak Tunic

Every year the Coconut Grove Arts festival sets up off of South Bayshore drive with hundreds of artists' booths and street food stands.
This year we went with a purpose: to find art for the new place.  Sadly, we left empty handed because the prices were just a bit too steep.  The food was great (but also expensive).  We ate gyros, crab cakes, and coconut shrimp.  And of course, a lemonade icee.

I'd have more photos but many artists did not permit me to take pictures of their work.

We had a good time this year but I wish the pricing would have been more varied; it seemed like everything was $1000 +.

I'm wearing a lace A+RO tunic (now Ash Rain + Oak) that I got at this year's Gilt Warehouse sale.  Although yesterday's temperatures dipped quite a bit, the temp throughout the day was really nice.
This weekend flew by.  I really can't believe tomorrow is Monday.

Have a Happy and safe President's day.
I'll be at the office.  :/

Crab cakes and coconut shrimp deliciousness.

Tunic: Ash Rain + Oak Lauren Eyelash Dress (worn as top) / Shorts: Gap  / Earrings: Forever21
Bracelet: Etsy / Flip Flops: Gap /  Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Mini Mac with rose gold hardware

Design Element: Pastels

I'm all about color for Valentine's Day!  I've been in trial all week, wearing black every day.
Give.
Me.
Color.
I've recently been drawn to pastels, ironically enough, after uploading bunch of pictures of clothes and accessories in bright neon colors to my Facebook.

Have a wonderful day and thank you for continuing to read and visit The Fashionable ESQ.
Look for more outfit posts to come this weekend.
Love!

Beauty File: Latest & Greatest Skin Clearing Products

A couple of months ago I ran out of my regular Solgar vitamin B-12 complex and instead of ordering another batch online, I bought regular vitamin B-12 (not complex) at CVS.
Had I known what was coming I would never have done this!
My face began to break out really, really badly - and it was not getting better on it's own.

I'm embarrassed to say that it took me way too long to figure out what was causing the breakouts.   The light bulb finally went off.  I Googled "acne and vitamin B12."

Dude.

I was shocked to see how many people suffered massive breakouts after using vitamin B-12! There were tons of threads, detailing the horrible effects that this vitamin had in terms of breakouts.

Once I figured out what was causing the breakouts, I was relieved, but I still had to deal with the nastiness that was plaguing my face.  I basically lived on ramen for a week in order to fund my Sephora.com skin-clearing product haul.

These are the latest and greatest beauty products in my arsenal that are helping calm my skin.

OOTD: Giveaway + How to Wear Mint Green Pants + Pastels in February + Miriam Merenfeld Jewelry Giveaway

This Sunday we had brunch at the Biltmore Hotel.  The Biltmore Hotel is an iconic Miami landmark that is unlike any other hotel in Miami.  It's nestled in a residential area of Coral Gables and it really maintains an old world feel.  The hotel sits among perfectly manicured gardens and a golf course.  There are little corners of the hotel that are unique and picturesque; perfect for taking pictures.

Because we, in Miami, don't really have to adhere to seasonal outfit choices, I paired my old Yumi Kim blouse with these mint green pants from Forever21 (last seen in this post) for a pastel-on-pastel look.  Went a little boring with the shoes this weekend - but they did actually pair perfectly with the rest of the look.

I'm wearing a necklace courtesy of Miriam Merenfeld jewelry - that,  guess what? Is up for grabs for one of you guys!  MMJ has agreed to gift my readers with their very own LOVE pendant, just in time for Valentine's Day!

Cuban American Bar Association Gala 2013

We attended the Cuban American Bar Association Installation Gala last night at the JW Marriot in Downtown Miami.
I love any excuse to get really dressed up! I had a dress all ready to go and picked out but...you know how sometimes something looks completely different when you look at it in another mirror? Yeah.  That dress didn't work out.

I instead wore this Rebecca Taylor Pleated dress that I had been wanting to wear  (now sold out, try this one or this one or this one) , and dressed it up with vintage Dior gold jewelry and a jewel Louis Vuitton monogrammed vernis Sunset Boulevard clutch.

This event was really fun, and that's evidenced by my lack of pictures of the night.  Let me just tell you that a dessert bar with mini creme brulees and freshly made beignets is never a bad idea.

A big thank you to the firm of Stewart Tilghman Fox Bianchi & Cain, for our invite.
