Casual New Year's Eve Outfit

If you have been following my blog for a little bit, you know that I build my outfits around one item. I select one item that I want to wear, be it a necklace or a pair of shoes, and then everything else around piece. (Similar to how an artist adds to a blank canvas? Ha!!).

For this outfit, the standout piece is the faux leather fringe skirt by Trouve (Nordstrom) that was recommended to me by my fashion bestie, +Kelly Saks . It's the twin sister of the Alice & Olivia version. It's the perfect piece because it's comfortable to wear, but also packs a fashion punch. Best part? It's under $100.

Izzy's Fish and Oyster Bar, Miami

A new fish and oyster house has opened its doors for brunch, and dinner in Miami, giving established oyster bars like Mignonette a run for their money.  Izzy's Fish and Oyster Bar is a pretty novel restaurant, by Miami standards; there are not too many places like it here. And guys, it's good.

This restaurant is such a welcomed change to the endless string of bad Italian restaurants that line South Beach. It's situated just south of 5th, and imports daily oysters from locations around the country. Daily imports means that you get true, fresh quality oysters and delicious New England fare.

With an impressive bar, and all of the accoutrements that go along with great cocktails, it's also no surprise that you can get a great drink or unique beer to wash down all the goodness.  Despite being in the heart of South Beach, Izzy's Fish and Oyster Bar has anything but that touristy feel. It's beautifully decorated, in an upscale, nautical manner and maintains a quaintness about it. It was cozy inside, with great, flavorful comfort food.

Elle Decor Modern Life Concept House Miami

Breakfast with Elle Decor? Yes, please! Every year, for Art Basel, Miami, Elle Decor joins several brilliant designers who collectively gather their talents to bring us the Elle Decor Modern Life Concept House. Each designer takes on the challenge of decorating a room in the home, be it the bedroom, bathroom or living area.  This year, they hosted us for breakfast and a media preview with Elle Decor Editor-in-Chief, Michael Boodro.  If you followed my Snapchat (@FashionableESQ) you saw a full video tour of the entire space.  For me, interior design is a true art form; I lack all home design creativity, so I am impressed by someone who can turn a blank "canvas" into something great.  I love comparing before and after shots of spaces. It's amazing what a designer can transfer from his mind, into a space.  This year, interior designers/ architects like Miguel Zegarra and Sam Robin used pieces from Max Aalto and B&B Italia and more, to help transform the space in Wynwood, into the zen lounge of my dreams.

I was completely at home in my study, naturally; with a white lacquer desk, exposed cement walls and neutral tones with splashes of green, who wouldn't be?

Holiday Gift Guide for the Working Woman

This year, my holiday gift guide is for the working woman.  Down below, I've included tips and tricks to make your office holiday season less painful.

Finding the perfect holiday outfit can seem daunting, and when you add holiday office party into the mix? You can be left feeling overwhelmed. This post is not going to feature the typical holiday party dresses. My hope is that this will help career minded women transition from daytime working woman, to office party-ready with a few simple steps.

Of course, ideally, we would all love to go home, change, get a blowout, and then attend the office function, but when that's not an option, I hope that my tips still help you look put together.
