The Colony Hotel West Palm Beach & Swifty's Restaurant Review

We recently stopped by the iconic Colony Hotel in West Palm Beach to have brunch at Swifty's Restaurant, their on-site eatery, which offers great fare in a chic and relaxed pool-side setting.  Swifty's Palm Beach carries on in the spirit of the beloved New York, Upper East Side institution that closed in 2016.

For breakfast, I recommend the Full Vegan Colony Breakfast or The Benedicts (sauce on the side, of course!) or The Colony Breakfast (photo below). If you're hungrier, start off with some Gazpacho, or go with the Bacon Wrapped Designer Meatloaf as an entree.

After you've finished eating, stop in for some shopping at the Dolce & Gabbana boutique inside the hotel.

Easy vacation outfit!
For brunch, I wore a cutout top from Tularosa which is a few year's old and a draped, loose sage green skirt from Zara (I found a similar one on Amazon and an almost identical one here.)

Also, I'm bringing back the turban trend from 2012! This one is from Ulta. My metallici clutch bag is the only new item featured in these photos. I've linked similar items below. An easy vacation outfit using a maxi skirt

There is not one square inch of this hotel that is not covered in something chic. From the wallpaper to light fixtures, upholstery and the accent plants - they thought of it all.  There's a Dolce & Gabbana boutique in the hotel lobby, monkey and flamingo wallpaper throughout. And talk to me about the beautiful pink marble interiors in the bathroom? Unique and beautiful.  Also, my outfit was unintentionally retro which matched the theme.

The styling on this outfit is all about the loose pieces that drape in different ways.  I also feel like a boxy, lace cut-out top, like the one I'm wearing here, is a summer staple. You can style it in so many ways, such as with high

Easy Vacation Outfit featuring Farm Rio & Maria La Rosa

Here is an easy vacation outfit featuring the this blue and white maxi dress by Farm Rio. It's perfect, unique and great quality.

The dress has minimal give and runs true to size. This dress has cutouts throughout at the waistline and zips up the back.  It's a versatile dress because it works for both day and night.  I paired the dress with some Stuart Weitzman pink sandals and a new bag by Maria La Rosa - the Game Clutch in the color Cielo.

I am obsessed with how roomy this clutch is and how you can opt to use it with or without the chain strap. The inside has one tiny interior pocket which is credit card sized. It's got a ton of space, and you can easily fit your phone, camera along with all of the other essentials.

PREGNANCY FILE: AFFORDABLE MATERNITY DRESSES

affordable maternity dressWe have a lot of new things to chat about - and no time to chat about them in! I'll try to give you a quick summary. I am in my third trimester now; turned 28 weeks on Saturday. We also just moved! In case anyone was wondering, I do not recommend moving while six months pregnant. Our home is still upside down. Things are still in boxes, and I have no idea where I'm going to stash all of this makeup that I've hoarded over the years. My feet are swollen, I wake up at all hours, work stress and schedule has not lightened up...oh, and where is my concealer?! I have so many broken capillaries and angiomas from throwing up that I can't live without it.

During my pregnancy, I've been fortunate in that I've not needed to invest in many pieces. I have a really kind co-worker who handed down a few pair of her maternity jeans - I've worn them daily. I purchased a pair from a brand called Angel Maternity jeans (also try this pair, or this pair of denim leggings) I've pretty much lived in them my entire pregnancy (even arguing an motion for summary judgment in a pair - shhh). As for dresses, I've mostly managed to stick with the same dresses I owned before; anything that has stretchy fabric is a 'go' (like this basic jersey dress by Leith).

There is this option from Bumpsuit which is a maternity wear brand. It's a great Fall layering piece.

PREGNANCY FILE: PRE-NATAL MASSAGE - THE BILTMORE

Pre-Natal spa review at the Biltmore Hotel in Miami

I recently spent an afternoon at The Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables. Our best friend celebrated a surprise birthday, pool side, in a cabana. While we were on site I had my first pre-natal massage and snapped some photos of what I wore. For reference, I'm 22 weeks pregnant in these pictures.

Click through for my outfit photos. This is look can be both a maternity look and non-maternity look. It's a fun poolside or beach look that is really easy. The outfit is built around a few layers of bright colors with a pop of really bright color from the shoes.  It's a bold color palette, layered over a solid yellow dress. Pretty easy and fun to wear. If you have kids and are going to be running around after them, change out the floor-length duster for something with a slightly shorter hem and keep the flats. I'm 22 weeks pregnant in these pictures.

VIBES

Sometimes, a period of transition lasts longer than you anticipate. Sometimes you don't even realize that you're actually in one. Roughly six and a half years ago, my Miami fashion blog began as a fashion diary, chronicling daily outfit choices. Today, The Fashionable ESQ is still my passion project, but, you guessed it, it's in transition.

I enjoy blogging just as much, if not more so than when I first began. I'm not going anywhere, but the blog is adapting, and changing. I began a new job seven months ago. It's less restrictive, in some ways, but more time consuming in many other ways. I've also become less tolerant of the way brands pitch, or maybe the right way to say it is that I've become more selective of the projects and collabs I undertake.

I know that a lot of the original Miami blogging community feels the same way - and if you check out their outlets, you'll see the changes unfolding daily.

I never thought I would say this, but, change is a good thing.

Beach Bunny Babe

Laceup one piece
Wearing my new, favorite suit; similar style here.

One of the best things about growing up in Miami is the summer. Hot summer nights (and days) aren't just for Lana (see what I did there). There's something about being outdoors in this city, during this time of year, that brings me a huge sense of happiness. It may be a thousand degrees, but we have all of this. For that, I'll always be grateful.

Magique at Faena, Miami, Date Night Outfit

The Faena Hotel has brought an entirely new feel to Miami's nightlife and arts scene.  I mean, when Baz Lurhman helps design the interiors of your hotel, I think you're in good shape! Just saying. Faena, and its umbrella developments that span over six blocks of Miami beach water front, have been credited with breathing new life to the area south of 30th & Collins. Faena Theater is located inside the hotel. It's a throwback to the 1970's, when dinner theaters were having their moment (that's what Wikipedia says). It's a pretty interesting place. Every now and then, we make our way to the hotel and theater, to check out what new shows are playing. It makes for a great date night.

Playing currently is Kevin & Caruso's Magique; a not-so-ordinary magic show, filled with illusions, handmade costumes, and lots of sequins (on show girls). It's set to the tune of some 90's jams, with some current Top Ten stuff throw in, which makes it fun. Because the dinner theater is small and intimate, you're guaranteed a good seat. It's a fun and unique experience that I recommend for a fun night out.

Ticket Info:
Bonus: two drinks, complimentary with each ticket purchase.
Magique runs through the end of may, every Tuesday and Sunday.
Tickets: available here.$65 adults / $45 for children (although, it's not much of a gig for kids in my opinion) or you can e-mail for reservations: faenatheater@faena.com.

Victoria Beckham x Target: Outfit

By now, you've heard that the quality of the Victoria Beckham for Target line is great. It definitely is.  I'm bringing you a quick outfit post today wearing a VB for Target top. The top is a nice, thick material. It doesn't wrinkle (maaajor plus), and has cute fringe detailing along the hem. It's Available online, at Target.

My shoes are also from Target! I can't believe how comfortable these Mossimo Daphne platform sandals are. I complain endlessly about shoes being uncomfortable. Who would have thought that a $29 pair of shoes would be easier on my feet than designer heels?

All of the details on my accessories, are down below. Thanks for reading. xx

12 Days of Christmas Holiday Gift Ideas: Day 4 - Hugo Boss The Scent For Her and Him

Hugo Boss: The Scent For Her
Today's holiday gift idea is brought to you by Hugo Boss, who recently hosted us for a beautiful evening at their new Brickell City Centre location.  After an informative tour of the elements used in the fragrances, we sampled both the men and women's scents.  I was already familiar with the men's cologne, Hugo Boss The Scent.  I love the masculine leather notes in it. It also has great staying power.

The Scent for Her is a beautiful fragrance that's the perfect mix of spicy and sweet. The bottle is chic and elegant. Want to know why? Because Jason Wu designed it!

Both are beautifully crafted fragrances that last, and would make perfect gifts for your girl or guy.
At the Diptyque store opening, just before heading to Hugo Boss (more on that tomorrow).

MINIMAL

This is a quick and minimal look for Fall. It's so easy to dress around all black and it's my favorite color to wear, so that's also a plus.  Art Basel Miami begins next week. You can check out some upcoming Basel activations on my events page. Not much to say today.  Sort of numb from Thanksgiving and in a turkey daze. Sorry for the picture quality. These are a bit overexposed and out of focus. :(

PS: I'm wearing Too Faced's Melted Chihuahua on my lips.

Miami Fall

Today's look is inspired by my love of bohemian style and the Fall color palette.  Of course, wide leg jeans are always going to win in my book, so they're a must for this time of year.  Lastly, I almost always dress around a high-low theme, mixing luxe items with affordable piecesHope you enjoyed this easy Fall look and that you're loving this time of year as much as I am.  Sorry about the image quality on these.

CUSTO BARCELONA SHOW SS17 NYFW

The Custo Barcelona show was one of my absolute favorite shows this year. The colors, patterns, fabrics, everything - so good. We saw brocade shorts, jackets with cutout sleeves, silk bombers, embroidered halter tops and more. The girls walked down the runway with chic chingons clipped with oldschool barrettes, and yellow tinted goggles. Check out the photos from the show, down below and don't forget to let me know what your favorite look was!

Cynthia Rowley Presentation SS17 NYWF

The Cynthia Rowley SS17 New York Fashion Week Presentation was held in Rowley's own space on Morton Street, in NYC.  It was an ethereal, dream-like presentation, with models posing behind a finely knit gauze veil. They floated and danced around tons of white feathers while we marveled at the delicate dresses and clothing. The colors in this collection were so vibrant. I was in love with this turquoise number, seen below, (also posted to my Instagram). Of particular note; the use of florals on boho-inspired dresses, colorful piping along clothings' edge, and the cutest retro heels made this collection tailor made for my fashion heart. A super pretty and unique presentation. Let me know what you think of the collection in the comments below.

Fashion For A Cause: Miami Bloggers Unite to Raise Funds To Fight Breast Cancer

I teamed up with Bloomingdale's Aventura, and some of Miami's most fashion forward bloggers to once again, help raise funds to find a cure and fight breast cancer.  As some of you have seen on my Instagram, I am dedicated to helping spread awareness and letting you guys know how you can help contribute to the BCRF and to fighting this disease. There's a fundraising effort taking place on October 22nd, 2016 that's going to be a lot of fun.  On that day, Bloomingadale's Aventura will host a fashion show with some Miami bloggers. You'll also have a chance to see all of the images from this campaign, like the ones I'm featured in down below, shot by the beautiful and very talented Danielle Margherite (@Dmargherite on social).  You can shop, grab some snacks, and pick up this commemorative Donald Robertson sweatshirt. Proceeds benefit the BCRF. Keep reading to watch a video of the behind the scenes actions for this cause shot and edited by videographer Bing (@TheBingstagram).

Black and White

I hardly ever take this dress out to play. It's so pretty but in Miami, it just doesn't feel right for many occasions. In New York City, though, and for Fashion Week, it was perfect for many events. PS: My lip color is ColourPop Dopey. Street style photos by GissiJ.

Mustard

Mustard is one of my favorite colors to wear, especially in the Fall.  You'll generally find me in jeans and a tee, which is basically this outfit, except I layered the textured yellow top over the most comfy white tank.  I'm a big fan of the rosette details on this top, and maybe that's why I didn't really mind that I paired the colors black and yellow - which in my eyes is a major bumble bee 'no, no.'

Boxy

Walking through this beautiful NYC burough, after TIBI, we stumbled upon quaint courtyards and streets. They had character and were a great backdrop for photographs. LAlso visited the Highline, which was crowded and buzzing with tourists and locals alike. This area of New York City is, like most, is alive with great culture, street style and food. After these shots, we headed over to The Spotted Pig, where we waited only about 10 minutes before having one of the best Cuban sandwiches I'd eaten in my life (and both my parent's are Cuban AND I was born and raised in Miami; my endorsement says a lot). By the way, the bloody Mary's aren't half bad, either. This little spot earned it's Michelin star in my foodie heart.
