Design Element: The High-Low Dress

1. Michael Stars Alba Dress $168 (photo via Piperlime.com but link is to Revolve because they have all sizes in stock).
2. Forever 21 Sleeveless High Low Dress: $29.80.
3. Forever 21 Ruffled High Low Dress: $22.80.
4. Urban Outfitters Reverse Lattice Waist $68 - A little cowgirl, a little floral and you have to be a lot brave to wear this (the middle section is open).
5. Phoebe Couture Pleated High Low Dress $390.
6. Delias Floral High Low Dress $44.50.  I think this is the best buy out of all of my picks! The picture on the site of the dress on the model gives a much better idea of how cute this one really is.
7. Forever 21 Flounce High-Low Dress $24.80
8. Parker Ruffled Strapless Dress $262.

Did you notice how my collage is shaped like a high-low hemline.  NO?
Use your imagination :/
And...
Love.
DVF Carsandra Dress (that's not a typo) $375, all sizes available here.

Readers: what do you think of this trend? I particularly love it on longer dresses with hems that graze the floor.  Do you feel this is a passing trend that should already just...pass?

Designer Spotlight: Tory Burch Accessories

You can tell that I've got color on my mind!  Tory Burch accessories are chic and elegant.  Yes, they've got a high price point but the trade-off is quality! The items I've selected are perfect for Spring/Summer.
The Revas can transition paired with skinny jeans and a white denim jacket.

The cork wedge is a summer staple - think long, strapless maxi and a cross body bag (try the Robinson bag).I love the clear, plastic frames on the sunglasses, too.  So, I know these aren't for everyone but even if you're not going to pick something up, it's still fun to blog-shop. Get it..blog-shop...instead...of...window-shop? No? Ok...

OOTD+Ann Taylor Animal Print Dress + BCBG Blazer+Office Outfit

Some days, for work, we wear full suits, but  there are days where we can play with office appropriate separates and make outfits a little more fun. I used a gold skinny belt and a bold statement necklace to add some color and accent my dress/blazer combo. I posted about this Ann Taylor animal print dress recently.  I had pondered keeping this dress since it was a similar print to another Banana Republic dress I had recently gotten.  Of course, I kept both dresses and the consensus was that one could never have too much cheetah!

FASHIONABLE ESQ TIP:
The belt I'm wearing in these pictures is not my regular size, but I bought it anyway because my size wasn't available.  Don't be afraid to buy your belts a little larger because as you can see, you can still work around the sizing!  I was able to tie it around my waist and make a cute knot.

Rolling up the sleeves on a blazer is something that I like to do to update the look of a basic black blazer.  There are days when this is appropriate and days where this is not, but on a casual Friday, this could work for your office, too.

Designer Spotlight: Alexander McQueen + De-Manta Clutch + Classic Skull Clutch

From top to bottom: Metallic Leather Skull Box Clutch in Gold-Silver, Classic Skull Iridescent Skull Box Clutch in Blue, Metallic Leather Skull Box Clutch in Ebony-Gold, Galaxy Classic Skull Box Clutch in Green

I love the box clutch, I love the skull motif, I love the scarves, I love McQueen.  While browsing the designer purse section at Nordstrom, a fellow ESQ and I recently fell in lust with the De-Manta Clutch.  We also tugged,  quite literally, on one of the knuckle box clutches which was tightly attached to a security tie.   In a feeble attempt at perhaps owning one of these coveted bags, my pal even suggested we go halves on one them so that we could have joint custody - but even then, we were not quite there.  Forget what I said in this post about finding more wallet friendly items.

I'll leave the real McQueen Tribute to one of my favorite bloggers, Kristina of Pretty Shiny Sparklywho writes a lot more eloquently than I do.

De-Manta Clutch.
This one is on sale - less than $500 (I know, I know, what a bargain...)

What do you think of the late Alexander Mcqueen's designs?
Do any of you own any McQueen items?

Enjoy!

Cheap Finds: Target

My friends told me that I was a snob and only posted expensive things on my blog.

:(

Here is my under $35 guide to basics from Target.

First of all, I love these brightly colored scarves! Look at how cute these are!

1. Women's Mossimo Pam Wedge: perfect braided wedge.
2. Women's Xhilaration Twyla Espadrille Wedge - these look like a pair of wedges that own. I love this tribal print.
3. Women's Xhilaration Karidee Fringe Boot: I think these are really cute and they incorporate a bit of fringe!
4. Women's Merona Brush Twill Top
5.Target Merona Chambray Shirt - a cute work basic that's done in an updated chambray with a ruffle. This would look cute paired with white cut offs and those DV Archer Sandals that I love.
6. Mossimo Tank: I've been wearing these forever; a closet staple.

Target Wird Agate Cuff - This looks so pretty online - does anyone have this? I may have to pick this up.

PS: Please click here to follow The Fashionable ESQ on Facebook - I usually post my picks for items I'm 'currently coveting' Thanks for the continued support. :)
