Left: All the shades of the new Joli Rouge lipstick; Right: Clarins Mission Perfection Serum and two Joli Rouge Lipsticks |
Price wise, it falls within the reasonable price range for serums, clocking it at $72.
Pros: It applies smoothly and absorbs quickly. I love the way it smells! As with all Clarins products, it has a soothing and calming smell. After about 30 days of use, you will start to see some results and lightening of those nasty brown spots. It's for the face, but I don't see why you can't also use it on your hands. Bonus: It boosts radiance as it attacks discoloration.
Cons: While the pump dispenses product cleanly, and the packaging is sturdy, it makes it difficult to get every last drop of product out. Does not contain any anti-aging ingredients.
The Joli Rouge lipsticks are luxurious. They're packaged in a gorgeous gold tube with magnetic closure (I've included a link to a post with all swatches down below). The formula is long wearing but not drying. It contains softening and good-for-you ingredients like mango oil. This is a 7 hour formula that provides medium to full coverage. The finish is somewhat glossy with a very creamy texture.
Pros: long wearing, non-drying, gorgeous packaging.
Cons: Shade range is somewhat limited. I would like to see more colors, especially more young and fashion forward colors.
As an aside, Clarins launched wooden pencil 3 lip liners in universally complimentary shades. They're numbered 1,2 and 3. Swatches below.
