Ford Beauty Suite and Inglot, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim, Miami #MBFWSIM

Just before I left town, I had time to attend a few Swim Week events in Miami.  The Ford Beauty Suite never disappoints.  Ford Artists all gather under one roof, or in this instance, aboard one yacht, so that they can pamper us.  They use the best products (like my personal favorites: the Oribe hair products), to give you a little extra 'something' to help brave the Swim Week crowds.

At this event, I got my nails done by Jessica E. from Exhale Spa - in a bright, neon pink.  Perfect for my Spanish travels.

MBFWSwim: Nanette Lepore Swim 2014

Nanette Lepore and Maaji (coming up next week) were two of my favorite collections to watch.

For this show, I got prime seating and made some friends who helped me get the perfect shots of the different looks.  I really enjoyed the vibrant colors and unique patterns on the swimwear; there were lots of purple tones mixed with turquoise that made everything pop!

 A huge thank you to Jimmy Lepore for my invite to the exclusive Nanette Lepore Swim 2014 show.   I also briefly met Nanette Lepore, one of my favorite designers.

Definitely a great Swim Week highlight for me!!

Ipanema + Asos Penthouse @ MBFWSWIM

Ipanema is a footwear company that hosted us during Swim Week in Miami.  They were also one of the official event sponsors.  They were lovely!  Because there can be a lot of rudeness, chaos and negativity during Swim Week, it was a pleasure to meet the girls from Bollare PR and Ipanema, and get some one on one time with them.  Alle Fister, who heads up Bollare, was a driving force behind a little online phenomenon you may know: Shopbop.  She is a total inspiration.  One of the coolest moments of my swim week experience was chatting with her.

Guys, I attended the most fun beauty suite last week during Mercedes-Benz Swim Week! I was invited by Ford Models and The Work Shop Collective to attend the Ford Models Beauty Suite and I loved every minute of it.  A special thank you to Maria Arguello for hosting us in a great way.

The Shore Club hotel's private cabanas were the perfect spot to host an intimate preview of the Tory Burch 2014 Resort Collection.  We were invited to enjoy mimosas and mini quiche, pool-side, and browse through some of the new Resort Swim collection.  This was an especially great way to start the morning because I got to (finally) meet Lexi of Glitter and Pearls and Alyson of The Average Girls Guide - in person!  I have followed their blogs from when I first started and they have both been so kind and helpful to me along the way.  It was a Happy day :)

Beach Bunny Swim 2014 was a little Xena Warrior Princess, a little sassy and a lot sexy.  This collection was made super edgy by the use of extreme bikini designs, unusual textures, and varied accessories like grommets and geometric jewelry.  A touch of the 80's peaked through, every now and then too; we saw a hot pink visor make its way down the runway, as well as the use of vinyl side panels on some of the swimsuits.  My favorite looks included the gold lame one-piece with black latticework sides, and the multicolored romper.

Agua Bendita not only featured all sorts of bikinis cut in entirely different styles, and one piece swim suits, but we also got to see great lounge wear pieces in relaxed fits. I really liked the use of pastels in this collection: pale blues, pinks and yellows all melded seamlessly   I am in love with the spikey hair barrettes that the models wore.

Poko Pano Swim 2014 featured fun, sky high heels, flowy beach pants, and adorable striped prints.  How cute is the look in the last photo with the retro high waisted shorts and striped bandeau top? Mercedes-Benz Swim Week: Roxy Pop Surf Anniversary Party + Win Fashion Show Tickets!

Roxy is a swim and surf brand with staying power!  On Thursday, we attended the 25th anniversary and swim week kick off party for brand.  25 years in the business is no small achievement, and despite the nasty weather, there was a huge turnout to help celebrate.

We got to see some of the new suits from the 2014 collection while we enjoyed passed bites from the AMAZING restaurant, Michael Schwartz.   DJ Chelsea Leyland was spinning some pretty awesome old-school jams (ODB, anyone?) Leyland's fashion favorites?  Anndra Neen bags and jewels, as well as Dominique Jones jewelry.

Mercedes Benz Swim Week 2014 + Peroni Style + La Belle Rebelle

Tonight I attended one of the Swim Week kickoff parties sponsored by Peroni, La Belle Rebelle and Italia Independent at SoHo Beach House.  It was so nice to see some of my friends at this event and to be able enjoy the gorgeous view from the penthouse.  Can't wait for the rest of the week's festivities.   Remember to check back with the blog for Swim Week updates!
