OOTD: Tuxedo Pants + A White Blazer

I wore this to dinner with my family and boyfriend at Sugarcane Raw Bar and Grill.  Have you been? It's delicious.  The exact way I like to eat - lots of variety and options.  Have I mentioned it's delicious?

I wore a pair of tuxedo pants which always get mixed reviews.  The men in my life tell me things like, 'you wore gym pants to dinner' or other comments along those lines.  Others just stare.  I don't know, I kinda dig them, and that's why I bought them.

I styled them with a white blazer from Bebe and an ivory blouse from Alisha Levine.  I am going to do an all white-on-white look soon, and I think I'll use this blazer again.  I really like it and have worn it a lot since I got it in February, and every time I do, I can't help but feel a little Miami Vice in it, and I think that's awesome.

Topped off this look with my vintage Christian Dior stunner earrings.  Love these things.

I've had these yellow cork wedges for centuries.  They're on their last leg of life but I keep wearing them.  I wont give them up!  I found lots of similar options online ---> here, here and here.

What I wore:
Tuxedo Pants: Amanda + Chelsea from Nordstrom Rack
Ruffle Front Blouse by Alisha Levine (Soldout)
Yellow Cork Wedges: BCBG (Soldout)
Envelope Clutch: ASOS (Soldout) Similar here, here.
Gold Cuff: Kenneth Cole via Piperlime
Turquoise Tusk Necklace: BaubleBar (Soldout)
Vintage Christian Dior Earrings
Panther Ring: Bauble Bar

Currently Coveting: Summer Beach Essentials

Summer is here!  We Miamians really know our beach style, so I thought I'd put together a post rounding up some summer and beach essentials to help you look chic while playing in the sand.  This will be a three part post, with follow up posts in June and July.

ENJOY, and THANK YOU FOR READING :D XX

1 ASOS Scarf Print Beach Pant //Bop Basics Rafia backpack //3 Juicy Couture Wide Brim Straw Sun Hat is now only $29 (and if you sign up for their e-mails you get an extra 20% off your first purchase)
Top Shop Cobalt Maxi coverup // 5 C.Wonder Bold Aviators - I love that these have a thicker rim and come in three colors // 6 Melissa for Forever 21 Bow jelly flats // Starfish Rings // Sashi Bracelet

12 Toni Praver Bikini // 13 Melissa Obadash coverup // 14 Striped Nylon Tote //

16 Ojon Damage Reverse Restorative Hair Oil - for the drying effects that the ocean can have on your hair, this stuff works wonders.  It's less thick than most of the hair oils, but I feel like it penetrates the hair and makes it soft.
17 St. Tropez Self Tanning Gel  (Gets rave reviews)
18 Ouidad Double Detangler Comb - made for curls/ waves.
19 Jergens Crema: seriously my new favorite cream.  I was and am a big fan of Kiehl's Creme de Corps, because of the whipped thick texture, and fragrance.  But I am not a fan of it's price tag.  This new Jergens product is something that I will buy again and and again when it runs out.  I was given all three fragrances, Aloe, Oatmeal and Coconut.  Oddly enough the Oatmeal is my favorite fragrance because it smells like Creme de Corps, light and faint vanilla.  Moisturizes really well and lasts a long time.
20 Sephora Hair Ties - my fave, double as little bracelets.
21 Hair Turban - a must!
22 Arcona Triad Pads - full five star reviews on Nordstrom.com.  They're refreshing and light toner pads that remover makeup and face grime.  I like these, and their effects, but I do not like the fragrance.  It's a bit strong, and I dislike cranberries.  I think this is probably the reason why the fragrance bugs me.
23 Arcona Rezone 40 Sunscreen- described as the "holy grail" of sunscreens, this is a fantastic product.  It's a sunscreen, protecting against the sun's rays with titanium dioxide and zinc oxide.  Also contains an ingredient that helps calm the skin.  This goes on like a sheer tinted mouse (sort of like that whipped stuff from the drugstore by Maybelline) It rubs in easily and then dries without being overly greasy.  Good stuff.

Disclosure: I was provided full sized samples of the Arcona products by MMI PR & Marketing.  I was also provided the Jergens Crema when I attended Dani of Nany'z Klozet's party last month.

Lincoln Motors Hello Again Tour, Miami

Hi!
Last week I was invited by Lincoln Motors to attend their Hello Again #helloagain tour in Miami and experience the Lincoln MKZ.  I was so happy to see Kara of Sprinkles in Springs there, along with her boyfriend who was so sweet to snap some pictures of us.  Together, we drove in a Lincoln MKZ through Wynwood, part of Miami's Design District.  We hit local spots Panther Coffee and the Wynwood Cigar Factory.  We drove through (yes, drove through the middle of) an art gallery that had various prints and Miami skyline photos displayed on either side of the 'road,' (Curated by RAWartists.org.  At the end of the event we were treated to bites from Wynwood Kitchen & Barat SoHo Studios.  The tour is now open to the public - if you would like to test drive one of these luxury cars and also enjoy light bites along the way, while touring Miami's Design District, you can sign up here.

Thank you to Tricia for our invite.

OOTD: Stripes and Florals + Pattern Mixing

Hi everyone, this week I did a pattern-mixing outfit on the blog.  There is a subtle rhyme and reason to this style.   My main suggestion is to pair one of your prints with another print that has more 'white space.'  In other words, pair a very busy pattern, with a less busy pattern, that is less dense.  Here, the striped peplum top from Conversation Pieces is less busy than the floral print skirt from LOFT, so the outfit works.  That's just my suggestion, but I've also seen other styles that work just as well.  Larger stripes on smaller stripes seems to work out well, and polka dots and stripes can work, too.

It's really about playing with the outfit, and choosing something that you feel comfortable in.  Attempts at styling these can leave you feeling a little bit like a clown in a circus, so don't go overboard; keep one pattern as the neutral, and the other as the standout pieces, so that your don't have pieces that compete with one another.

I'm not afraid of a little color, obviously, so I chose brightly colored blue heels from Zara.  My cat eye sunglasses are cheapies from Forever21.

Premios Billboard 2013 Miami + Gifting Suite

Hi! I have been a little lost from the blog recently, but I am back to bring you this post about a super fun event that I was invited to which was held backstage at the Premios Billboard 2013 Awards here in Miami.  I was invited by WorkShopCollective to take part in this event that they called a Gifting Suite.  Ok, I don't know about you, but when I hear the words Gifting + Suite together, I'm there.

How much fun, right?  The event was set up so that different brands had their items on display for us bloggers to sample, photograph and take!  Everyone that I met was really, really nice.  I especially enjoyed chatting with Adrianna and Cristal of Carlo Pazolini (their shoe store at Merrick Park is amazing), Brett from Dockers, Shelly Street who did my hair, and Raquel from Uno de 50.

Wearing Forever 21 crocheted shorts, (still available) and here in ombre (size up a full size) and my neon chartreuse Victoria's Secret lace bandeau that I had hoped would peek through a little more because the contrast looked great against the black.

Also wearing my new pendant from Uno De 50! It's called the Ojo Que Te Veo pendant and is also available in pink. and what they call blue, but what I call jade (it's the color that I'm wearing in the picture above).

Beauty File: Makeup Forever Pro Finish + HD Foundation Giveawy

Images via Pineterest #makeupforever
A couple of months ago, Make Up For Ever (MUFE for makeup fanatics, and industry beauty junkies) sent over three full sized products for me to try out.  As you may or may not know, I am already a huge MUFE fan, and I own a lot of their products.  I had recently experienced a not-so-great skin MONTH and had vowed to only use the products in this post  until my skin got back on track.  But, then I went to a party, ran into an old friend from middle school (another Fashionable ESQ.), and you know how girls get to talking....
...I, of course, left my powder in the bathroom that night.  It was time to open and try out the Make Up For Ever products.

To put this review into context - my skin is mostly oily with the very rare, random dry areas (at times showing up on and under my nose and on my chin).  It is extremely sensitive.  I am fair; pretty light skinned, to the point where everything shows on my face.  Everything makes me red so sometimes I need more full coverage products.  I applied all of the products in this post with either a moist foundation sponge or my fingers.
