Nissan hosted a brunch in Wynwood to show us their new electric concept car: the Nissan BladeGlider.
I had trouble understanding the concept of a concept car. It never actually gets produced on a mass scale and it won't hit the road. It is a model that gets shown to designers, consumers and car enthusiasts, depending on the reaction from the public, certain design elements may later get incorporated into a fully produced car. This model had cool features, like cutout door panels, which allow you to see the roadway underneath you as you drive the car. It looks crazy, really sleek and futuristic. It has a single person cabin inside, meaning, your trophy wife will remain sidelined while you coast down the streets of Miami. One is a lonely number, folks, but it sure looks good in the BladeGlider.

I attended the 10th anniversary exhibition of Design Miami at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
This was one of my favorite art events. This event is centered around home design and furnishings. The amount of unique pieces on display from various galleries was incredible. The Design Visionary award went to famed architect Peter Marino who has collaborated to create retail spaces for Louis Vuitton, Fendi, Chanel, Dior and Bulgari. His installation featured many of the pieces from his private collection (mostly chairs).

I wore a burgundy, silk jumpsuit from TJ Maxx and the same BCBG embellished heels from this post. My black blazer has a leather trim and is from Zara. I also wearing a vintage gold stretchy belt. Outfit photos and some artwork pictures by Gissi J.
When two fashion powerhouses invite you to breakfast, you jump for joy and arrive with bells on. Henri Bendel'slongevity on the market is a testament to their ability to appeal to the fashionably conscious, traditional woman in all of us. Harper's Bazaar's editorial prowess and tireless scouting of on-trend style is the reason they've enjoyed top ranks among fashion magazines for so long.
These two hosted a breakfast at SoHo House in Miami that focused on the Henri Bendel Luxe lineand the way that social and digital media play a role in this evolving industry.
Bendel Creative Director Pina Ferlisi chatted with us about the Luxe Line. When developing this line, the goal was to meld high fashion jewelry with the enviable quality of the real thing. This is the reason that the pieces in the Luxe Line look and feel authentic. The settings (from pave, to asscher, to cushion cut) mimic real-life glamour. The weight of the pieces is also a factor in their quality. Semi-precious stones are used in production, including Swarovski crystals. When all is said and done, this line boasts chic, well made pieces that you're going to want in your velvet lined jewelry drawer.
Check out the line below by scrolling through these pictures (click the arrow on the right).
This was an office friendly outfit. I wore white, wide-leg Alice & Olivia pants and a black top from Tildon (Nordstrom). Oh, and can't forget my green velvet heels.
Alexander Mijares is a local artist who was born and raised in Miami. I am so in love with his artwork! It's dynamic and full of color and energy. He has been one of my favorites for a long time, which is why I was honored to cover the opening night of his newest series of paintings for Art Basel Miami, 2014.
The exhibit of his most current works features Mijares' trademark geometric, linear style fused with the vibrant colors that he is so well known for. Nevermind the custom Lambo outside the gallery...
Gucci and the Spinello Projects presented the Kris KnightSmell The Magic Exhibit in Miami's Design District. This was the unofficial first night of Art Basel 2014 in Miami. While the city comes alive during Basel, it is probably one of the worst times for traffic in Miami. Currently the powers that be have managed to have everything, and I mean everything, under construction. This does make navigating the art scene a bit more difficult, but in the end, it's all offset because we always have a great time and get to experience really interesting people and great vibes.
A tweed jacket is always a fun and classic piece to incorporate into your Fall fashion. The classic Chanel tweed jacket helped legitimize Chanel and put it on the map as the fashion powerhouse that it is today. Withstanding the test of time, the tweed jacket remains a go-to piece for women of all ages.
For those of you that want to snag some online deals, below is a list of my favorite items, and online retailers like Nordstrom,Shopbop, Revolve Clothing and other stores that have pretty good deals going on. I'll also update the list with Cyber Monday deals as well.
If you know your sizing in different brands, this is the time of year to shop for yourself online - you can beat the crowds and you can still get a great pair of boots on sale. I'm into over the knee, two-toned boots this year, so I've picked out a few styles that I think are cool. Of course, shiny things attract me, so there may be a cool metallic clutch thrown in the mix as well. Happy hunting. Online Promo Codes
We attended a food and vodka tasting a the Epic Hotel courtesy ofElit by Stolichnaya and Zuma Restaurant.
The tasting was centered around the final edition vodka in the Elit Pristine Water Series: a series of vodka's that are put through quadruple filtration, and incorporate sourcing water from natural areas. This particular vodka includes water sourced from a spring that flows off the top of the Andean mountains. I'm not kidding. The newest vodka, the Andean edition, is considered the third and final limited edition, ultra- luxury vodka in the series.
Each bottle in the pristine water series is $3000 and only 250 of each edition are manufactured. So, if you're a high roller and you love your vodka...you know what to buy!
I wore a white Helmut Lang draped top. I would normally take an XS/P in Helmut Lang tops. For sizing reference, this is an S because I could not live without this top, and Shopbop was sold out in XS.
I'm wearing my favorite pair of embellishedstilettos by Rachel Roy (The Aria Pump)(Similar) If you have never tried Rachel Roy shoes, I highly recommend them. They're super high quality and they have padding all along the footbed, which, if you know me at all, you know that my number one outfit related complaint is uncomfortable shoes. I'm on my feet all day in pumps, and all I ever want in life is a pair of comfortable, padded work shoes. (Sale Alert: Helmut Lang is having 40% site wide sale)
The Epic is such a beautiful spot! While the valet situation is terrible and leaves much to be desired, the hotel itself offers a modern feel and a great dining experience. There are two restaurants on-site: Area 31 (the views from this rooftop restaurant are amazing) and Zuma, which boasts one of the city's best brunches. The food tasting at Zuma was top notch. Below are details on what we dined on and my outfit.
I've been a fan of Cirque Du Soleil productions since my first experience watching "O" at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, over ten years ago. I'll never forget that show; we had third row seats and got to experience the splashing of the water, felt the heat from the flames and saw other special effects that are part of the now famous show. They are seriously mesmerizing productions that are musically and visually stunning. Since then, I've tried to catch almost every single show.
I'm so happy to announce that the newest Cirque show, Amaluna, is debuting in Miami and I'm giving away two pairs of free tickets valued at $80 each (second level seating). The show will debut on December 11th, and run through January. The first pair of tickets will be given away to a winner that enters via my Instragram. This contest will run through December 3rd. After that, I will giveaway one more pair. The tickets are for showings in December and January. If you are less lucky, and want to buy your tickets, you can do so below.
Good luck!
Tickets for the show can be purchased here - this link will provide you with $25 discount off the regular purchase price! Tickets range from $37 - $130.
I love Fall fashion - I love browsing through blogs, catalogues and lookbooks to see all of the great Fall pieces in action. We have so few chilly days in Miami, that any drop in temperature brings a slew of scarves, and knee high boots to the city. We may look a little ridiculous, but it's still fun to play dress up with some of the items that remain stored away, pretty much year round.
I think coated denim is a cool Fall trend, and while these jeans may be a bit on the delicate side (don't wash them at home, unless you're going to handwash them, inside out and with Woolite), they're an awesome alternative to regular dark denim. They come in great jewel tones for the season. Some of my favorites are below, click on the individual styles for a link back on where to buy.
By the way - Saks Off 5th is having a BUY ONE GET ONE FREE EVENT FOR DENIM. If you know your size in Jeans - I would start stocking up. Click here. High end:

For this set of pictures, I headed over to the Wynwood Walls in Miami to take a peek at what has been going on there lately. Every few weeks or so, the building exteriors and wall murals change with a rotating assortment of talent being showcased. Street art in our city has been elevated to a different level since the inception of the Design District and Wynwood.
In recent years, there has been an incredible surge of life and creative energy in Miami. Whereas before we used to see buildings "tagged" up with ugly, monochromatic, gang-related symbols and words - we now have meaningful and vibrant street art.
In a few weeks, Art Basel will be upon us, and all of the current street art will change once again. I'm glad I snapped a few shots in front of this wall of flowers before it's replaced.
Perrier teamed up with three famed street artists from around the world: Kobra from Sao Paolo, JonOnefrom Paris/New York and Sasu working from Tokyo. The goal? To create street art labels for limited edition Perrier bottles and cans. They each designed something that was true to their own aesthetic, and their creations were paired with the Perrier product.
How amazing is this wall mural in Wynwood, Miami? A few weeks ago, Nicky Hilton (yep) was in Miami and she posed in front of this gorgeous piece and posted it to her insta. I was so drawn to it that I scouted it out this weekend. I found it on 25th street, in Wynwood, off of N.W. 2nd avenue.
I took a few days off from work because I needed a little regrouping time. And, who wants to forfeit their annual paid leave at the end of the year because they're not allowed to carry a certain number of hours over into the new year? Not this girl!!
This morning I attended a breakfast at Freshii, Wynwood Miami's newest fresh snack and juice bar. It washosted by my friend Maria of The Wordy Girl. I enjoyed some girl time with some of my favorite bloggers while we snacked on goat cheese, veggie and egg wraps, really delicious fruit and granola parfaits and, (my favorite), bacon, egg and cheese wraps. We tried some fresh juices, too, and while beets aren't my thing, I discovered that apple, cucumbers, kale and spinach are.
After breakfast, I snapped some shots in front of one of the street art murals in Wynwood, Miami. If anyone knows the artist, please let me know, and I'll credit.
If you're looking for some Veteran's Day sales & online discount codes, you've come to the right place :)
Some of my favorite retailers have some pretty good sales going on right now - check them out below with their promo codes.
I want to start off with Nordstrom, who is killing it lately, featuring some of my favorite brands like ALC and Helmut Lang. They're running their clearance sale in-stores & online (40% off). You can snag some really good stuff on there, like the Rebecca Minkoff Mini Mac at 40% off. I love it in silver. You can also pick up some flat boots like these by Enzo. But, if you're my friend Paige, you're going to head straight for the Rag & Bone sale section, to pick up their booties.
West Elm is doing 15% off clearance with code YIPPEE -and 20% off of lighting, coffee tables, side tables table top decore and linens. Basically, the whole store is on sale. They hosted us for a blogger brunch a few weeks back and I saw some really cute stuff in the store. They now have a line of plates and mugs with animal caricatures on them (The Dapper Animal line). My favorite was this owl mug:
One of my favorite brand of jeans at the moment is BLANK NYC. They have great distressed jeans, boyfriend jeans and their skinny's are awesome. Singer 22 has my favorite skinny jean, the Spray On Jean on sale for $51.
The lip crayons are the latest in the the Burt's Bees lip color line. The product is a chubby lip pencil but does not require sharpening. It has a creamy, semi sheer, finish that's in between glossy and matte (the company describes it as "semi-matte"). It goes on smoothly. For you MAC lovers, you'll find the composition similar to lustre lipsticks, but a little bit less pigmented. Below are swatches for Carolina Coast and Hawaiian Smolder.
Sometimes, the easiest thing to throw on for the office is a good work-wear dress topped with a blazer or cardigan. It's a basic, feminine outfit for the office that requires minimal thought on those mornings were you're feeling nervous because you've got a big presentation or just four seconds to get out the door.
I like J.Crew dresses because they're well tailored/ constructed, the length is always appropriate, and they have a little bit of an extra design element that sets them apart from the basic corporate shift dress.
We need to discuss the most amazing fashion moments from this past weekend.
Could Amal Almuddin's style be more perfect? She has the best couture eye, prancing around Venice in the most stunning Giambattista Valli white cutout dress (the flower appliques are to die for), and opting for a white Stella McCartney Bespoke pantsuit for her civil ceremony, instead of a traditional white wedding dress.
Oh, yeah, did I mention that she made it official with George Clooney, also?
While we, in the fashion crowd, eagerly await (edit: they're heeeere) the first leaked photos of her wedding dress, take a tour down couture perfection and browse through her latest looks below:
