Clarins Spring Line 2016

The Clarins 2016 Spring line is currently on store shelves. In the past, I've talked a lot about why I love the Clarins skincare products, but today, we're talking about their makeup. I have blush, lipstick and eye shadow swatches down below. My favorite products from the new collection are the new Rouge Eclat lipsticks/shades.

Clarins Creme Blush (swatched below)

  • Clarins Creme Blush: a unique and fun cream to powder blush formula that packs a huge pigment punch. It is smooth to apply and literally melts into your skin in the prettiest way.
  • Ombre Iridescent and Matte Single Shadows: there are three single eye shadows in the new Iridescent line; a dark taupe/gray, pink, and a silver. The matte versions have 4 shadows in the group. Again, the formula on these is nice. A non-chalky, smooth formula. The description says they're cream to powder, but in my opinion, they're not quite cream. (At least, not like the blush above). I would still label these as a powder, but a very velvety one. They're quite pigmented as you can see from the swatches. I wish there were more shades, because right now, the range is limited. I am not crazy about colors 07 and 04 (taupe and silver) but the pink (05) is perfect.
  • Clarins Rouge Eclat Lipstick: the packaging itself is enough to make you want to buy a ton of these, and display them beautifully next to a window, where the sunlight will catch them. Is that weird? Am I weird?  But really. they're so pretty. The shade Rose Praline is a beautiful, muted rose color. Pink Cherry and Pink Blossom are very wearable shades that would compliment all skintones. The formula is creamy and soft. These are the slightest bit sheer, very breathable, and wear well. I will say that they apply somewhat glossy and dry down without much sheen, to a satin finish. They're comfortable and not drying. They contain anti-aging ingredients for your lips, which is always a plus.
