The District Factory: Miami Design District

In the past year and a half, Miami's Design District has undergone an incredible transformation and now boasts a great list of high end design houses and furniture stores - the cherry on top will be the impending opening of the Cartier boutique later this month!

The District Factory is a monthly gathering of locals designers selling their items,  as well as featured artists' exhibiting their work, all in the same space.  This party is the brainchild of Miami based designers Grace Castro of upHEIGHTS.com and Chelsea Conklin who runs ThePlat4m.com  (read more about the creative startup of The District Factory here).  Admission is free, and you can self park at a meter for $2.00.

Once inside, the atmosphere was pretty busy with shoppers.  We sipped on complimentary Perrier thanks to Societe Perrier while we browsed.  This month's featured artist was Juan Henriquez, and I took a particular liking to one of his acrylic boxes (seen below).

Before heading out to a (sadly), underwhelming dinner at The Federal Miami, everyone in my group managed to pick up at least one trinket from a jewelry station. Most everything we saw was reasonably priced.  My bracelet from VanityGal.com is adorable and was only $12!  Until next month!
