Featuring: SNOBSWAP + The Fashionable ESQ - Fashionable Work Wear

I'd been wanting to do a fun work-wear post for a while now, so when I was approached by SNOBSWAP, I decided it was the right time.  Some of you don't hold office jobs with strict dress codes, so you have a lot more creative leeway when it comes to how you dress during your work week.  (Note that if you fall into this category, I will automatically stew silently at you from a distance). A lot of you, however, have to trek to the office, to the courtroom (ESQ's?), to boardrooms, and through corporate America's meetings, all the while, looking professional and polished...hopefully.

CLICK BELOW TO SEE WHAT ITEMS I CHOSE:

SNOBSWAP is a site that works a little like Ebay.  Members can put designer clothes, shoes, purses and other accessories up for sale on the site.  What's cool about SNOBSWAP is that you're allowed to trade or "swap" items between members!  You can also switch up the method by which you pay for an item - for example, if I like your Chanel 2.55 and you like my Chanel 2.55 (but yours is in a little better condition than mine) we can swap Chanel's and you can also charge me an extra, say, $250. :)  In addition to swapping, you can also list items and accept regular cash for them.

I was excited and flattered to be approached by the company's CEO, Elise Whang, to do a writeup for their blog.  She's a young, driven attorney (like me) who had a vision, and made it happen.  Her and her equally fashionable sister started the company in June of 2011 and judging by the success of their recent launch party (click here to see the pics) this is going to be a big deal.

Recently, SNOBSWAP teamed up with vintage clothing D.C. boutique, TARI so that some of the listings you see on the site are directly curated by the TARI team.  If you see a TARI item that you like, make an offer! Can you say dream closet? <3

If you're interested in signing up for the site, leave a comment on this post and I will send you a link!

Here are my picks for work-wear essentials, broken down by categories.

Room handbags are preferable for workdays.  Louis Vuitton Epi Speedy 25 $520 This handbag wont fit your large file folders, but it is pretty roomy and polished.

Kate Spade Leather Stevie Satchel $210 A larger handbag done in super soft leather.

For something that can fit your files, try something like the Tory Burch Magazine Robinson Tote, found here.  The reviews on Nordstrom.com are all positive, saying that this tote fits both iPad & docs!

Old Navy Scalloped Tiered Top $10 Pair this shell with a great jacket and pair of pants.  If you want to wear it with a skirt, you can try tucking the first layer of the shell into a high waisted skirt for a flouncy effect.

Pink Gema Tank $30 Another great option to layer under a blazer or a tweed work jacket is this top.

I also like this printed blouse (the print is very small, but look carefully; those are tiny elephants). It's got a great cut and looks chic, too!

Vintage Halston Skirt $207 Pack a serious corporate punch and command attention in this super bright orange skirt.

No office attire is complete without a black, classic pencil skirt, such as this one from YSL ($100) or this one by Tahari from Bloomingdale's for $69!

This knit Oscar dress is office ready (price not listed; currently accepting offers).

AK Anne Klein Sleeveless Shift $89  Every woman needs a classic shift dress like this.

Jessica Simpson Nude pump $60 in a go-with-everything nude color.

Cole Haan Air Violet Open Toe dress pump $139 (with Nike Air technology to help keep your feet comfy all day long).

Nanette Lepore Fitted Blazer $120 as you can see, I like a ruffled neckline on a blazer like these two options have.  It adds a little something more to a basic work staple.

Elie Tahari Arissa jacket $180

I like to pair a statement necklace over a shift dress and keep the earrings simple.

Earrings: Kenneth Jay Lean Turquoise bead drop earrings $36 or Vintage Chanel's $411

Necklace: Style Tryst Pendant Necklace $88 or Kenneth Jay Lane $45
