OOTD: Hayden Reis Giveaway

I'm so t-i-r-e-d all the time!  I think it's the Miami humidity, it's been awful lately.
I'm staying cool, poolside this weekend with some really light and flowy shorts by LOFT, my hair in a high bun and a sheer tee by French Connection.

The adorable whale pouch that I'm sporting is courtesy of Hayden Reis, a local Florida company.  Hayden Reis partners up with bloggers by gifting large tote bags and little pouches to try and spread the word about their accessories line.

Recent Acquisitions + Sephora Makeup Haul + Bare Collection Jewelry

I guess I haven't done one of these posts in a while, but I wanted to share some of my recent acquisitions  with you...because I love stuff. And it's OK to.

First of all, this new All About Orange Collection Limited Edition MAC blush in Royal Sunset - is en route to its new home on my makeup counter. I can't wait to have it! They were out of stock at my local Merrick Park Nordstrom but the super sweet SA found me one and it's coming from Texas to MIA just for me :))))

MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in the color Chilled on Ice - I'd been looking for a good eye shadow dupe for Too Face's Satin Sheets...Satin Sheets is my favorite eye shadow but it only comes in palette form (and very rarely at that), and you can't find it in a single.  There are forums discussing the perfect dupe for this shadow.  I found this paint pot while I was browsing for the Orange Sunset blush, and I think it's a pretty good match.  It is like a pale pink with flecks of gold shimmer

Oribe La Fama, Miami + Sonia Kashuk

Oribe (pronounced Or-bey, I found out) is the high quality, professional hair care line that has established itself in the industry throughout years of tried and tested blowouts, fashion shows and photoshoots.  It's right up there in quality with the all time hair greats.

OOTD: An Easy, Casual Weekend Outfit

Sometimes I want to wear sweatpants all day.  Yes!  I promise.   But because that's not quite realistic on my vain little planet,  I have found the perfect weekend dupe for lazy days: leggings and flowy blouse combo.  This is a tried and tested look that is casual but still a little bit chic.  Flats complete the look.  I topped it of with a fedora but you can easily sub out this style hat for a more on-trend panama hat or accessorize with a messy braid.
Wore this to brunch at the Biltmore Hotel with my family, where my brother took my photos.

How To -  Easy Weekend Outfit:

1.  Choose a blouse that is longer on the back end and shorter on the front end, but still long enough around that it covers a significant portion of the leggings' waistband.  Leggings are still leggings, a spandexed butt is not cute.

2.  I prefer a long sleeved blouse because you have the option of rolling / pushing up the sleeves for that cool girl vibe.  I love doing this with a light fabric; it is less structured but not sloppy.

3. I prefer leggings that bunch at the bottom, near the ankles, rather than cropped leggings (like mid-calf leggings).  Mid-calf leggings can definitely look sportier, like if you're going to go jogging.  Other cropped variations may work, depending on where they fall on the leg.

4. A little black flat: is always chic, but really any flat will work.

5.  Minimalism: I accessorized minimally with a stack of tri colored bangles and cat eye sunglasses

Blouse: LOFT (soldout, similar under the link, and the most perfect, but pricey one here

Hotel Urbano, Miami + Miami Bloggers Brunch

Spent Saturday with a group of girls that I have really grown fond of - my Miami blogger sisters.  I was so shy when I first started the blog, I never went to any Miami events with any of the local girls.  I am so happy to say that I'm over that now and have met so many great people as a result.  I really love the doors that this little side project has opened up.

Jana of OJ & CIGS set up a brunch for us girls, at Hotel Urbano off of Brickell Ave, a chic boutique hotel that doubles as part art gallery and part lazy day paradise (think: poolside cabanas and palm trees). Massage and nail stations were set up on-site, compliments of Exhale Spa with a fashion show by Zeki Swimwear and a fab jewelry stand by Dopodomani.

Yes, it was really, really hot, but still a great time.  Our gift bags included what I hope will be an awesome hair glossing treatment from a local salon (Red Carpet Salon).  I'm really excited to book my appointment because my hair is in major need of some love.

Lots of pictures of these lovely ladies, and the links to their blogs, down towards the bottom of this post (warning: picture heavy post)

I hope you enjoy my pictures, and thank you for reading.  It makes me happy :)
